Therapy sessions are usually weekly and last 50 minutes. I can see clients more frequently if required. I can also offer online sessions via Zoom if required.
Sessions generally take place at the same time and day each week. The number of sessions depends on the issue you bring to therapy. Usually an initial 6 sessions is recommended with ongoing therapy to be discussed between us at that point.
Current fees are £40 per session.
Low Cost Counselling
I also have a limited number of low-cost spaces. I am happy to discuss lower fees if:
You are a Carer
You are in receipt of Government Benefit
You are a Student
Current evidence of any of the above will be required.
How Do I Pay?
Fees are payable either in cash or by card on the day of the appointment.
Cancellations within 24 hours of an appointment will be charged at the full rate. Outside of this there will be no charge.
The First Meeting
The purpose of our first meeting is for me to find out more about you and to explain how I work.
I do not charge for the initial assessment meeting.
I look at the relationship between myself and you, the client. I view each person as a unique individual and throughout our sessions I hope to create a strong connection between us in a safe and supportive environment. This is to help you to open up and make the best use of the sessions. Understanding and empathising with you is a central part of what I do as a counsellor and building and sustaining that relationship in therapy is where everything hinges.
I strongly believe that change is possible in your life if you really want it. II will explain things clearly and will put things across in a non-judgemental empathic way, in a manner that you can understand without any jargon or complicated theory. I also work on occasion creatively and I believe that there is also a space for humour in the therapy room.
I offer both short and long-term counselling, and both day and evening appointments.
I work with a wide range of psychological and emotional issues but in particular I have experience of the following:
Relationship difficulties/Family Conflict
Non-recent child abuse/Adult survivors of abuse in childhood
Chronic pain/Illness conditions
